So the trip to get Blaine was quite uneventful thankfully. Blaine's plane got in about an hour and a half later than it was supposed to, but I did not mind sitting at the airport as much this time. I had a good time watching the people coming and going and I took a book along to read, so it wasn't too bad. He got in around 730 and then discovered that one of his bags didn't make it. The airline said that they would get it to our house overnight and leave it on the porch. It did not occur to us at the time that the person dropping off the bag would try to mapquest our house and that they would end up 30 minutes north of where we actually live. Needless to say at 630 Blaine got a call from the deliver telling us that he needed us to let him in the gate. Blaine then informed him that he was in the wrong place and eventually they met up at BP and got the bag.
Yesterday we decided to see a movie and then have dinner. After dinner and the movie we traveled to Brookville to see the family. The Phillips family was down from Indy and so of course we all went to Grandma's to visit! It was a great time had by all. We got to catch up and make some plans and just visit in general.
Today's plans include a visit from Logan and the Gellerts, studying for my midterms at school and hanging out with Blaine. Throw in a few loads of laundry and the day is full! I hope you all have a good day !

A new beginning for some dear friends
Well I already missed my every other day mark. Didn't last long sorry. Tonight I got to visit with Sherry and Derek and there precious son, Colton. He is absolutely adorable. While I didn't hold him, much to everyone's dismay, I still think he is pretty awesome. Amber and I took the family dinner and spent a couple hours hanging out with them. Derek and Sherry are going to make great parents!
School is really causing me some major anxiety at the moment, but not for the reason that you might think. Things are just looking a bit hectic for me for the future, but I'm trying to be positive. I know there's nothing to worry about yet for sure, but I just feel like I should be preparing for something.
Blaine comes back tomorrow finally. I swear this has been the longest October ever. I'm ready for some real sleep and that usually doesn't happen unless I have some sense of security. I am sure that he will need some sleep too since the time difference will probably have him dragging for a bit.
Here's wishing you all a great weekend!

A Fall Tradition
Well I am starting off this every other day blog right....it's the next time I should be blogging. :)
Thanks to those of you who have let me know you care what's going on in my life. I guess that came out wrong a bit. It's not that I think people don't care about me, it's just that I figured you were all too busy like me to bother and read this. Thanks for the support!
This weekend was full of activity and some needed sleep for me. I spent Friday at home on my own catching up on some TV from the week and then catching up on some much needed sleep. Saturday was my nephew's 1st birthday party and then I hung out with Mom for dinner a bit. Amber called after Mom left and I went with her to a party at a friend's house. It is amazing to me how people can just pick up where they left off when they haven't talked in a while. I think that might be my favorite thing about where I live. Doesn't matter where you've been, how long it's been since you've talked, or what is going in your life the true friends and people you know will always be there! That was definitely proven to me this weekend. I had a good time hanging out around a fire and chatting with people I haven't seen in awhile.
Sunday brought a fall tradition that I try to keep up each year. It was the weekend for the Minges Pumpkin Festival in Harrison and of course I went! Mom, Dad, and I headed out early on Sunday to check it out and it was totally worth it. I found some cute jewelry and an awesome fall decoration! Not too mention, it was just a nice break from the usual. The rest of the day I have spent on laundry, dishes, and grad school, three things I truly hate in my life at the moment. Especially grad school. That's a post for another time though.
I hope you have a fantastic Monday and a safe and healthy week. Those are my goals for the week to be safe and healthy.

Changing things up
So I am aware that I have not posted in 2 months. And I'm aware that there is next to nobody reading this anymore and I don't really know what to update anymore. I think I got to the point that I didn't know what to post about anymore. I felt like maybe nobody cared about what was going on and that the things I was posting about were useless and boring to others. That being said I think I will try to take this blog in a new direction. I keep hearing from my family that I should be sharing my teaching experiences with others via a book. That seems crazy. I hate writing. I am currently enrolled in a master's class that involves writing a research paper and I hate it! I can't imagine writing an entire book! So I am thinking that instead of only writing about things going on in Blaine and I's lives, I will start to share other thoughts and feelings about teaching, working and going to college, and anything and everything else in between. I will TRY really really hard to post things every other day or so. These will likely be 5 minute posts on my day maybe, something I read, something random, or who knows what else. No promises on how often these will occur or how long it will last. I just know that I can't see that anyone cares about what is going on in my life much.
So here is the post for today....
I spent my day trying to make it through. This week has been really rough at school in a way that had nothing to do with the students and teaching. We as a staff have been having some definite rough times. On Monday night a very dear friend of mine at school lost her husband. He had been battling cancer for over 2 years and he unfortunately lost his battle. The visitation was on Thursday and needless to say, that day in itself was already set to be a tough one. We then got word during the day that our co-worker was in the hospital because they thought he was having a heart attack. That on top of the rest of the bad news and feelings of the day has drained all of us as a staff. I for one am exhausted and not feeling the best after all of the stress of the week.
On a positive note I spent the week making the day of my students. It is the end of the first quarter and many of my classes have earned their rewards. The younger students have been choosing out of my "treasure box" and the older classes are getting baked goods. They are all so excited and pumped to be in class and I am hearing that things are really different this year for the kids in music class. I need to say and HUGE thanks to my Mom for all her help this week. She was kind enough to help make the baked goods for my students this week because of my hectic schedule. I would have been in deep trouble if not for Mom this week. THANKS MOM!! :)
I hope you are all doing well out there in the world and that you are taking care of yourselves so you don't get sick. I'm counting down the days till my pod mate gets back from his trip and it can't be soon enough.
I'm off to bed for the night. It's an early Friday night for me! Take care everyone!
