This Month is neverending
I think the month of February is never going to end. It seems like it has been the longest month of my life!! After Blaine left on Friday my life has been rather normal. Saturday I worked all day and then headed to the East Central basketball game. (Speaking of basketball good luck to the Trojans tomorrow night at their sectional game!) After the game I went to a party at one of the coaches houses. Blaine didn't think I would go, but I did and I had a great time. Sunday I went to church with my mom and dad and then we went to lunch. I had my mom and sister help me pick out glasses to order this week. After some shopping we headed home to relax. I had dinner there and then headed home on my own. Sunday nights are always bummers to me. I did a little bit of gathering up trash and then headed to bed early.
I got to talk to Blaine this evening for a bit. Sounds like he is doing well. The goofball did manage to crack his cell phone though so now I am going to ship an old one to him. Good thing that we kept them! He said the weather up there was warm today and that it is going to be a bit warm for a few more days. They are getting some more ACUs and wet weather gear. Blaine told me that I would have to be bringing some of these things back with me when I come home from New Jersey. Sounds like everyone is getting settled up there and that they are doing well. They will be going through medical evaluations for the rest of the week as well as doing some other basic settling in things. They are supposed to move out to the place where they will be for the rest of the time at Fort Dix on Thursday or Friday of this week.
I do have Blaine's address for his time in New Jersey. It may change when they are shipped out, but it may not. We have decided not to post it on the blog for several reasons, but I am completely willing to share it with anyone interested. If you would like me to send it to you all you have to do is email me or leave a comment on this post with your email in it. My email is gellert.k@norwoodschools.org or kat113_ec@yahoo.com Either one will work and I will try to get back with you as soon as possible.
Here's hoping that it stops snowing, icing, and being crappy in general soon. It is driving me crazy to not have any sunshine!! Keep praying for us!

New Jersey
Hey everyone. I just wanted to write a quick post to let you all know that Blaine made it safely to New Jersey this morning. After a very early morning to be in Indy by 5 Blaine boarded the plane around 6:50 or so. Amy went with me and we were able to go with Blaine to the gate to wait with him till it was time for him to leave. That was nice for us. We were waiting to watch the plane pull away and leave, but then it ended up that due to ice and snow in Philadelphia the plane was delayed an hour. We were not surprised. I talked to him about an hour later and they were getting ready to take off. 2 hours later they had landed in Philadelphia. I haven't really talked to him since then, but hopefully I will later. It will be hard to get used to not talking to him every day or night. I think that may be the hardest thing right now. No address yet so keep checking back for that. Hope you are all doing well. Keep us in your prayers!
P.S. Love you Blaine!

Long time no post!!
So I know that I haven't posted in a really long time and I'm sorry. I have just been really busy the past couple weeks and I have been exhausted a lot.
Blaine came home on Feb. 2. Laura and I went to Danville that day for an FRG meeting and then the soldiers came back early so we got to see them. Blaine got promoted to 1st Lieutenant at the end of the day. I got to pin on his new rank and then McGray took care of the punching and saluting. It was neat to be there for the promotion and to see the way that his platoon reacted to it. They gave him a giant group hug right after. It was really neat to see.
Blaine officially leaves still on the 22nd of February. His flight to New Jersey will be that morning sometime. I'm not really sure what time, but I know that it will be a morning thing. From there he will head to New Jersey for about 2 months and then he will head to Kuwait still. He got his orders today and they are for the 22nd and then for 400 days following. That is as of right now.
This past weekend was a great time. We got to see lots of family on Saturday and then on Sunday we spent some time just hanging out at the house. Blaine has been spending his time in Danville this week during the day working on packing up the armory and the gear they are going to need while they are in Iraq. It is a strange thing to be thinking about packing everything up and thinking about what he needs to take on his own as well. I will try to post some pictures of the promotion as soon as I can. For now it is off to bed for me. Have a great night everyone!
