Paint Pictures and Idol updates

So lots of you have been asking about pictures of the kitchen and living room all painted. So without further ado...here are the pics.

I am pumped about the way that it all turned out. I am going to put another coat of red in some places in the kitchen and I'm still working on the baseboard touching up that needs to happen.

In other news I made it past the first round of the Canoefest Idol thanks to all my family and friends and their support. Here are some pictures of that night. The first is of the stage that I sang on in the middle of main street!

This is Amy laying in the middle of main street in Brookville. How many times in your life can you say you did that on a night they closed Main Street completely! We got a lot of funny looks, but it was a night to remember for sure.

Somehow in the course of the night an orange barrel ended up on Grandma and Pap's front porch! It was the oddest thing! We saw it when we got back to their house to go home and so we had to take Amy's picture sitting on it.

That was definitely a night to remember. We walked up and down Main Street all night. We ate pizza on the corner while having a drink. We danced the night away in the parking lot of Firestone with a live band! It was a neat thing to get to take part in.

I will be singing again this Friday night for the finals of Canoefest Idol. This week the concert will take place in the town park by the pool. I am one of 12 contestants to make it this far and I'm quite pleased with that! I am singing 12th of the 12 singers and so I will go on probably not too long after 8:30. The whole show starts at 8:00pm. I think that all of the singers are fabulous, so come out and enjoy some talent! The winners will be determined this week by audience vote and by a panel of 3 judges. Blaine is doing well this week. He has been out off the base last week and it sounds like things are still going well for him overthere. I know he misses all of you and wishes you all well! It is getting hotter there all the time and I think he will be glad when it starts to actually cool down.

Canoefest Idol and Paint

So Friday is Canoefest Idol. The show starts at 7pm at the courthouse in Brookville. I'm officially entered in the competition and getting ready for it. I've been practicing the songs that I've narrowed it down to on a daily basis and I'm working on making my final choices. I still have to figure that out, the bad news is I only have until Wednesday to do that. Hmmm....decisions, decisions. I should find out how far into the show I am as well on Wednesday. The audience vote on Friday will narrow the competition from 25 to 12. Unfortunately you have to pay to vote. Each ballot costs $1. I know that some of you can't be there and that is fine. I'm not sure how I feel about having all my friends and family there if I bomb. I guess I will see how it goes. If I make it through the first round I feel like I will have a good chance at the final round since it is then on to judges and not audience vote. I guess I should let everyone know that if you can't be there but would like to vote my sister is taking money to put into votes. If you don't want to do that either I'm totally fine with that. I think it will be a interesting experience for me.

In other news my mom and I are going to start painting my house tomorrow. We are starting with the kitchen that is going to be red! I'm so pumped about that!! We got the paint today and the color is beautiful. I can't wait to see the difference it is going to make on the walls. Dad finished the garage on Saturday and that looks awesome as well! We tried to put up the storm door on the front door, but when we got it out of the box the dumb thing was green and not black. It was a huge ordeal to get the right color at the store that day when we took it back, but we came home with a black door with beveled glass that was originally more than the other for the same price. So now we are going to put that up sometime this week or weekend or later. I'm not really sure, but it's not a big rush.

Blaine is doing well this week. He still is saying he is bored though. I guess for me it is better because he is in his room not doing much, but for him that is bad. Sounds like it hasn't been too hot there this week either.

Boo!

Did I scare you? I haven't posted in awhile so perhaps you are startled by the new post!! :)

Anyways....I guess I haven't posted much because I don't really have much news to report. Things for me have meant just getting the summer underway. I have been hanging out at my house, hanging out with my mom, and bopping around trying to stay busy. I have managed to succeed at that most days. New things around the house include the patio and flowers in the backyard and the newly finished garage. (Well almost finished) My dad has been working here at my house lots to help me get things done that I have been wanting to do for awhile. The patio is awesome and is surrounded by knockout roses and million bells. I love it out there! Our next project was to finish insulating and drywalling the inside of the garage. Dad is not quite finished but it is awesome so far!!

Blaine is doing well still in Iraq. I hear from here in some form almost every day still. He is getting a bit bored I believe and I think he is ready for some more things to do over there. It is also getting hotter with each day. It has been interesting to look at the weather over there and see what the temperature is and how they are describing what it is like there.

In other news I have officially entered the Canoefest Idol competition in Brookville next weekend. For those of you who have not heard about this, basically I'm going to be singing in a competition on the 20th of June. This event will take place at 7:00pm on the steps of the courthouse in Brookville. The final field of competiters for the next week will be based on the audience vote on the 20th. So basically if you are sitting around that night and are looking for something to do...you could always come to Brookville and vote for me! :) If you are busy...well I understand. If you need more info or directions just let me know!!
