*Blaine....At this point in time last year we were a world apart and the holidays were hard. This year I get to spend them with him and know that he's going to be here for awhile. That is something new. The last time we spent a holiday together it was about seeing family as much as possible, because we knew it wasn't going to last...this year it will be to be there with them. No schedules, no deadlines, no big goodbyes. I'm really looking forward to that.
*My family.....they have gotten me through everything since last Thanksgiving and continue to be helpful and willing to do what is needed to help me. I can't imagine living away from my family. I don't know how people do it. The constant love and support I get from my family is amazing and truly something that I know I am blessed to have.
*My friends...sometimes I think that I take them for granted. I get so busy all the time that I feel like I lose touch with them. But then when we get back together its like we were never apart. I love that about them! We have fun no matter what or how long it has been.
*My students.... while they are quite the characters and continue to challenge me every day, they have taught me a great deal in my short time being with them. I am amazed at what they come through and at what they are capable of. They have made me a more patient person and I think that I realize how lucky I am each day when I arrive to school and know that I might be the only person they see that day that cares about them and how they are. They inspire me.
I am going to stop boring you now. I thought you might like to see my top prizes as to the things I am thankful for. I hope that you have time to look at your life and think about the things you have in life that you might otherwise take for granted. I wish you all the best of Thanksgivings full of love, laughter, and fun. Good luck shopping if you will be taking part in that as well! I know I hope to be.
I love you all!!
P.S. I encourage you all to share your thoughts on things to be thankful for! Add them to the comments if you'd like!
P.P.S. Don't forget to check out the website for Straight No Chaser! It's in the previous post!

A new twist on some fun songs
I was at Mom's last night and she was sharing her newest CD purchase with me and I had to share it with all of you. It is fantastic. I know that some of you have heard of the group already, but if you haven't heard some of the tracks on their newest CD you should totally check them out. The group is called Straight No Chaser. They are a group based out of Bloomington, and I think they are fantastic. They have 2 holiday CDs out and they are both good, but some of the tracks on their latest album are hilarious!! Here is the link to their site... www.sncmusic.com You have to check out The Christmas Can-Can it is so funny! On their new CD there is a song called Donde esta Santa Claus that is also funny. I highly recommend this group!
In other news I finally finished my Veteran's Day wall of honor. It looks amazing this year! This is the 4th year that I have done it and this is by far the best one yet. I will try to post some pictures soon. I took some on Friday, but they are too great.
Tomorrow is Dover's church festival if you are bored you should check it out! I will be there for a bit for lunch and then I will be heading to my aunt's to celebrate my Grandpa's 80th birthday! How cool is that!!
Have a good night everyone!

November Already!!
Just me checking in and saying hey! Happy November to everyone and Happy Election Day! I hope you have gotten the chance to enjoy the first few days of November. Mine have been absolutely crazy to say the least. Sunday was nice, and then the craziness of the week started.
I am working on a Veteran's Day wall again at school this year and it is going to be the biggest one I have ever done so far. That being said I was really excited about getting it together and finished. I was sure that it was going to look great and I was careful about getting everything started just right. And then the who thing caved in on me. I was working dilligently on it last night and was bombarded by people that were insisting I was in the way and making things difficult for them!! Grrrr....it's still not finished and it is driving me crazy!
Today I got some good tips and websites at our inservice day. I am anxious to try out some of the things that I learned today and most of all I am glad that I get to be in my classroom again tomorrow! Blaine comes back Friday and hopefully will be staying for awhile this time.
Hope all is going well with you all!! Tip of the week: Be careful where you stash your purse at work! You never know where it will end up! Have a good night!
