So here it is. The end of the summer...the start of the new school year. And the beginning of my time at Sharpsburg Elementary. I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous, but I am super excited at the same time. My classroom is amazing right now. Thanks to some awesome helpers! Amber came for a day and helped me begin cleaning and organizing. My parents came in the evening one night and helped me attach some bookshelves to the wall and work on some other things that I was needing help with. Blaine's mom Laura also came to help me. She came in 2 different days and helped me to clean my room. She did an amazing job and I'm so thankful that she was willing and able to help me. I think that my students will really enjoy the way the classroom looks and will hopefully get excited about music for the year.
It will be odd starting the school year somewhere new this year. And on top of that I will be starting with a totally new specials crew. I will be working with Mr. Wadley in the gym and Emily is taking the year off so I will be working with her sub, Ms. Burton. I have yet to meet her, but I hear nothing but great things about her. I am nervous about this whole transition, but I am also hopeful that things will be alright throughout the year.
Blaine's new job with the army is going well. He seems to be transitioning into it just fine. It will even be offering him some travel opportunities! He will be traveling to Germany sometime this fall as part of his work with a unit that will be deploying soon. I think he might be excited about it, but I'm a bit less enthusiastic.
Good luck and best wishes to everyone that is starting school this week! I am sure that everyone is going to do awesome and have a great year!
Till next time!
