Yes I'm Serious...

So the past 7 days or so have been a bit odd and had some strange and crazy things happening. I am trying desperately to pack up and clean out my room at school. I have to be ready to move on June 3 and that is quickly approaching. When I was working on things today, it seemed like I got nothing on. I ended up packing 3 of the boxes for school, and two full totes of my own to bring home, but it still seemed like a total disaster in my room! I think I will be spending some time on the weekend there. Either that or start staying after school until 4:30 or so each day to finish up. It is crazy the amount of stuff that I have in my room after only teaching for 3 years! I can't imagine what I will have in 30!

So moving on to the craziness......let's start with Tuesday of last week. Monday went great, and the weather was to look amazing and I had big plans for my day. Well, that all changed about 6:45am that morning. I went out to my car to put my stuff in for the day, but little did I know there was a surprise in the form of a furry mammal in my car waiting for me. Upon putting my bag on the floor, the little critter (a.k.a. a mouse) got scared and ran across the driver's side seat. My next move was to slam the door back shut and run in the house to get Blaine to help. Yes I know it was silly. You'd think that I'd be able to handle that when I was on my own for a year. Blaine and I tried our best to find that mouse. We even got out the broom and beat around looking for it. No mouse and I was finally convinced that it was gone, so off I went to school. I'm sure you probably have figured out that it wasn't. I was on 275 near Miamitown when the mouse reappeared on the passenger side floor. Needless to say, I freaked out and cried like a baby half the way to work. Dumb I know, but oh well. When I got to school I left my door open for a bit in hopes that would take care of the problem. I soon also acquired a couple of mouse traps from the custodian. I haven't seen the mouse since that day, but I'm still not sure he isn't hiding somewhere in the car.

Wednesday in the midst of trying to find the mouse before I left for school I forgot that my cup was on the top of the care and I busted one of my favorite mugs. Grrrr....

Then there were other critters found in my room and all over the school on Thursday and Friday!!

This weekend was busy with planting, and shopping, and family time. Today was somewhat of a normal day with rehearsal this morning and then my final show at Allison Street today. It was somewhat of a bittersweet day, but I'm glad to have it over with. The rest of the year I'm going to try and finish packing while still filling up class time. Crazy!

This weekend is Memorial Day and I already have my ice cream flavor picked out. I hope it wins!! I also hope that you all have a fabulous weekend! Please take time to remember those who have served and serving our country! They are the reason we can all celebrate the weekend!!

New Record!

Well I didn't think it was possible, but I did it again. I have managed to be even longer this time since my last post. Sorry. Each of you may give me a thousand lashes with a wet noodle when you see me.

Things around our house have been busy, and hectic sometimes and the next day it seems like we are tyring to recover from a crazy day or couple of days and get things settled at the house. School is finally seeming like it is coming to an end for me. Testing weeks are over and field trips have started at school. Things are seeming more relaxed too whcih is nice. We are all starting to pack up and get ready for our moves. Unfortunately the move to Williams Avenue that I talked about last time really isn't going to be the move for me. It has become clear to me in the past couple of weeks that I am now moving to Sharpsburg. Some of you already know this, and some don't. It seems that things are just never going to go the way they should in Norwood for me. I am now choosing to see this as a opportunity though. I will have a lot more students and so therefore more impact on the district program and make more students have a positive experience in music.

In other news Blaine has gone back to work at Biggs. He is currently working the grocery department during the 3rd shift mostly. He's going to help cover some of the vacations that are being taken soon and still looking for the job at the Army to pull through. Guess we'll see what happens soon.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm so glad that the winter weather is over. I'm enjoying the sunshine and warm temps! I love spring and the nice days we have in it. Though at the moment it is pouring down rain...but I guess we need rain for things to grow.

I hope everyone is doing well. Sorry for the lack of posting again. I'll try to not break that record any time soon. Take care!!
